A Sister's Birthday

These next few pictures, and in fact the next few posts, will be out of order...I'm just going back through my pictures and will try to put a date reference on each post, and let you all figure out the sequence!!

Here we go--Alexandra just turned 19 on August 29, 2014.  She graduated from high school and earned her Associates degree from Tacoma Community College in June, and started working in downtown Seattle at an insurance company...you will see pictures of the girls at her new workplace in upcoming posts.

These pictures are from Alexandra's birthday LAST year, when she turned 18.

One of the things that is so beautiful about Jade and Amaris is the delight they both take in making other people happy.  As Xandra's 18th birthday approached, she kept saying, "I don't want to grow up!"  So, the girls helped me create a Peter Pan birthday for her.

The girls woke Xandra up, handed her a Peter Pan costume, made her put it on, and led her upstairs for a Neverland breakfast.

Amaris felt it her duty to supervise the eating of the breakfast!

Later, we had a family surprise party, with everyone dressed up from Peter Pan.  Jade and Amaris were Neverland fairies.

That's Rosie as Tinkerbell, and  a host of little Neverland fairy helpers.

The next day, we took Xan for her birthday ride...on a parasail!  Since kids 10 and under ride free with a paying adult (sorry Xan, you HAD to grow up), we gave Jade the chance to ride along, since she was soon to turn 11 and be too old!!

Buckle up and here we go!

 YIKES!

Hold on!

Amaris thought it looked so fun, that she asked if she could have a ride for her next birthday!

They went out 1000 feet!

The skipper dipped them down to touch their feet in the water of Commencement Bay!

 A VERY fun day indeed!

Determination

To say our summer has been full would be an understatement!  Part of the consequence of such busy-ness is that I have fallen out of posting on the girls' blog...in fact, it seems I've forgotten how to do it! I thought I was okay, but I went through the process of selecting and uploading pictures, writing  captions, etc only to fail in publishing the post...then it disappeared.  So, I am determined to go back through the tutorial and try again.  This short and pathetic little rant is actually just a test.  I've already gone back through the tutorial and now I will attempt to publish this...if it works, I will take a deep breath and try again to catch you all up on the girls' happenings!!
